Matt has focused on quality management system standards continuously since 1992. His first management system implementation was registered to ISO 9002 in 1993. He has worked in many different industries as management representative, consultant, internal auditor, trainer, and third-party lead auditor. Matt has experience addressing the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, AS9100, TL 9000, ISO 27001, ISO 13485, CMMI, CMDCAS, MDD, and FDA cGMP.
As a consultant, Matt has always taken the approach that the standards must serve and optimize the organization while maximizing value and minimizing costs. He has trained hundreds of students on quality management system auditing techniques and requirements of ISO standards. He served as Vice President of Operations for an ANAB accredited ISO certification body, giving him a unique perspective and intimate knowledge of what third-party auditors look for while determining conformity with management system standards.
Matt earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bucknell University, he is a qualified trainer for the IRCA ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor Class, and his auditing credentials have earned him recognition from IRCA as a Lead Auditor of Quality Management Systems (number 1186018).
“ISO 9001 is used by millions of people and organisations around the world and the upcoming 2015 revision will have a big impact on those who work with the standard.
The impact of this revision will be similar to, if not greater than the 2000 edition, which was a major change for accreditation bodies, certification bodies, training organisations, implementing organisations, procurement organisations, consultants and customers.”
