ABSTRACT

Since the new automotive supplier quality management system (QMS) standard, IATF 16949 was released in 2016, the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) has released information on the most frequently cited clauses for nonconformances based on the first transition audits. Many of these clauses are not new requirements. In this session, Dan Reid, the first Delegation Leader of the IATF, will look at the most problematic clauses and offer tips for achieving conformance. At the time of this writing, proposed session content will include clauses for auditor competency, total preventive maintenance and process control. This session is targeted for automotive and aerospace quality practitioners or auditors. AS9100D for aerospace shares many of the same clauses with IATF 16949 as both are based on ISO 9001:2015.
