  BIOGRAPHY

Darci Chambers

The Boss Lady, Texas Quality Assurance, Friendswood, TX, USA

Darci Chambers is new to the Quality world and the ISO Standards. Her background is in education. Darci has a M.Ed. in Educational Administration and spent 9 years teaching in the elementary classroom. After 9 years in the classroom, she decided to stay at home to focus on her own children and run her small quilting business. For 5 years, Darci ran a successful business making quilts of any sort as requested by her customers. She was happy to be at home and take care of her family.

During that time, Darci’s husband, Kyle, opened his own Quality Management Consulting business. This arena was completely unfamiliar to Darci, but the more Kyle talked about it, the more she thought, “School districts really need this ISO 9001 thing.” Kyle tentatively approached Darci, asking her to step in and help him with the business. It took a few months of convincing, but she finally came around. Darci has been learning the quality ropes for almost a year now. Her main role is hosting the Quality Matters podcast where she asks the questions that help anyone listening understand the standard, what quality means, and how it affects everyone-whether directly involved or not. Darci also brings interesting topics to the podcast to engage new listeners. While new to quality and ISO 9001, Darci enjoys learning and speaking along side Kyle. In addition to hosting Quality Matters, Darci and Kyle have been invited to speak at the ASQ Houston monthly meeting, as well as other podcasts in the area.
