ISO 9000 & AUDITS WORLD CONFERENCE ABSTRACT
Internal Auditing for the Future
This presentation considers the role of the audit process in organizations that are working to achieve sustained success. The presentation will explore the role of the audit system and auditors in the integration of risk-based thinking in the planning, implementation, and reporting of an audit. Consideration of risk is a call to action for audit system managers to ensure the audit process integrates risk-based thinking. So is a focus on streamlining and cost-reducing of the value stream. Such thinking expands the scope of auditing from just assessing conformity to requirements and introduces a level of sophistication that is beyond the scope of many QMS audit programs. It also drives selection and training of auditors in a new direction. It means that the audit criteria need careful consideration and the engagement of top managers needs to be expanded as well. The speakers will discuss the emerging reality that the pursuit of sustained success drives a need for a profound change in thinking and action for both auditors and top managers.
