Joe Larach is the Senior Manager of Quality Engineering at Health Management Systems (HMS). He is a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt. He graduated from Lehigh University with a Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain Management and Economics. With professional experience in the hospitality, aerospace, data center and healthcare data industries Joe has a wide breadth of knowledge and experience that has enabled him to pull best practices from each industry to help businesses achieve operational excellence. Joe worked as a Buyer and Contract Manager for the helicopter manufacturer AugustaWestland in their Supply Chain department. While there he led several large scale process improvement initiatives and ISO 9001 audits for the U.S. headquarters in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. He also drove the implementation of SAP into the AW609 tilt rotor experimental program in Arlington Texas. After shifting out of manufacturing Joe managed the ISO 27001 of a data center REIT. After successfully obtaining the certification, Joe shifted industries to join HMS as a project management and process improvement professional. He has lead numerous corporate quality initiatives and large scale projects to drive operational excellence.
Him and his team of Quality Engineers lead HMS's Lean Six Sigma program called G.E.A.R.S. where they train and obtain certification through ASQ for selected members of HMS to become Green Belts and Black Belts. He was responsible for the initial ISO 9001 certification of HMS in 2018 and continues to own the responsibility of ensuring HMS continues to live to the standard by working with operational and executive leadership to drive a quality product to our customers, as well as the ISO internal audits. Joe was born and raised in the Tampa Bay Florida area, but now resides in Dallas, Texas working out of HMS’s corporate headquarters. His hobbies include golf, weight lifting, cooking and comedic improv performances.
