ABSTRACT

As the deadline for the ISO 9001:2015 approaches, some organizations have waited to complete the transition while others have successfully completed the transition but continue to have some level of concern with their ability to sustain the certification.

Regardless of the current status of your organization related to the ISO 9001:2015 transition, the following three steps can be used to help.

1) Understand the requirements. This workshop will review all of the requirements in ISO 9001:2015 with an emphasis on new requirements. Organizations need to ensure key persons receive the proper training. Some persons will not need to understand the entire standard but those that relate to their part of the business. Methods for helping ensure these persons have the correct knowledge will be reviewed.

2) Engage management. Never has management had a stronger role to play in not only the transition but in the ongoing oversight of the management system. This workshop will provide methods to engage management. There will be a focus on the level of necessary engagement not just during a certification body audit, but the entire year.

3) Own your management system. In order for an organization to sustain its management system, it needs to own it. Many organizations fear that if they challenge a third-party auditor that they will lose their certification. This is simply not true. Owning the system starts with understanding the requirements and how they have been implemented in order to have a discussion. This workshop will focus on how you have these conversations on requirements. It will also include discussion on how not to let an auditor drive your organization to make changes that do not add value.

Whether you are still in the process of completing the transition to ISO 9001:2015 or working on ensuring that the management system can be sustained, this workshop will help lead you to ongoing success.
